PATRICK J. GORMAN
Professional BiographyPatrick Gorman started his own law firm in Beverly Hills, California in 1994 after serving as an executive with an independent film, television, and infomercial production company. Since then, he has built a body of clients consisting of substantial domestic and international entertainment companies, entrepreneurs, film financiers, film and television producers, directors, screenwriters, actors, recording artists, music companies, fashion models, and other creative artists.
Extensively traveled, Patrick has put together exciting international co-productions, including a recent collaboration between Ferrari, Nokia, and China entitled Encounter In Shanghai, for which he served as an Executive Producer. He has also been recognized as a producer of a number of other productions which he has helped guide to success.
Originally from Baltimore, Maryland, Patrick has worked in Hollywood for 15 years. He has worked on more than 100 motion pictures and television programs in one capacity or another. He has developed relationships with the guilds, talent agencies, motion picture studios, law firms, record labels and other Hollywood institutions.
For the past ten years Patrick has annually taught a course at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) Extension program entitled "Organizing, Financing & Operating An Entertainment Production Company." This course covers entrepreneurship, entertainment law, and the legal aspects of film & television production and music. His students have gone on to accomplish great things in Hollywood and beyond.
He is a regular guest lecturer at Loyola Law School on the topic of Entertainment Law. He has spoken extensively at numerous events and symposia throughout the world. In addition to lecturing, Patrick has been invited to publish numerous articles on legal subjects and the entertainment industry.
He has cultivated a legacy of former employees that have gone on to work for other prominent Los Angeles entertainment law firms, Paramount Studios, E! Entertainment, and other television networks.
In addition to his achievements in the realm of business transactions, Patrick has proved himself in the courtroom, having won clients' cases at trial, arbitration, and appeal.
Patrick earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Baltimore and a Bachelor of Arts from Tulane University of Louisiana. He is admitted to practice law in both Maryland and California. He is also a licensed real estate broker in both states.
